The world of gaming headsets can be a little overwhelming, especially if you’re just beginning your search for one. If you’re looking for a cheap gaming headset that won’t break the bank, the IOGEAR Kaliber Gaming UNIKOMM Headset is a great option.
The Kaliber Gaming UNIKOMM Headset features 50mm drivers, which is on the lower end as far as gaming headsets go, but it’s still enough to provide clear sound quality. While testing, I primarily used the headset to play Rocket League, Halo: Infinite, and Call of Duty on Xbox Series S. Rocket League was a pretty standard affair. I was able to easily hear the sound of my opponents’ cars as they zoomed around the arena along with the music that helps define the Rocket League experience. Halo: Infinite and Call of Duty were (obviously) a bit more chaotic with their online multiplayer, but I was still able to make out directionality and footsteps with ease.
The Kaliber Gaming UNIKOMM Headset has a removable, flexible boom microphone for in-game chat, and a 3.5mm audio jack so you can use it with your favorite gaming console or PC. Mic and volume controls are easily accessible on the side of the headset.

The headset is also lightweight and comfortable to wear, even for long gaming sessions. That said, the foam ear cups are on the smaller side, which meant my ears actually pressed up against the drivers while wearing. This didn’t have a huge impact on my gaming experience, but there was a bit more ear fatigue during my longer gaming sessions. I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker for the headset, just something to be aware of – especially if you have larger than average ears.
Arguably the best feature of the Kaliber Gaming UNIKOMM Headset is its price point. You can’t get much better for $20 than this headset. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and actually sounds better than some of the headsets I’ve used that fall in the $50-range.
The IOGEAR Kaliber Gaming UNIKOMM Headset is a great starter gaming headset that comes in at an affordable price. It has clear sound quality and features a lightweight, yet sturdy design. The only downside is that the foam ear cups are on the smaller side, which may not be ideal for those with larger ears. But overall, the Kaliber Gaming UNIKOMM Headset is a great option for gamers on a budget.
