Players lead a resistance against the nefarious Sheriff of Nottingham, navigating through war-torn landscapes and pollution-stricken skies. This inventive backdrop sets the stage for an adventure that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new.
Engaging Gameplay with Room for Improvement
As for gameplay, Gangs of Sherwood doesn’t shy away from ambitious mechanics. Players choose from iconic characters like Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Friar Tuck, and Little John, each bringing a unique flair to combat. Robin’s archery skills and Friar Tuck’s brawn showcase the game’s range, from swift ranged attacks to bruising melee combat. However, the game’s true magic lies in its Rebel Instinct mode, which briefly supercharges these abilities, adding a fun, extra layer of strategy.
