Love animals? Love the simulation gaming genre? You’re in luck! Animal Shelter Simulator – from indie developer Games Incubator – has been given a release window of Q1 2022, which means you’ll soon have the pleasure of running your own animal shelter, helping animals in need, and finding them loving homes.
Before that happens, though, Games Incubator is running a charity contest to help real-life animal shelters – and you can help! The studio plans to given five animal shelters $2,000 each in the buildup to Animal Shelter Simulator’s release. Between now and January 1, 2022, players can submit the animal shelter of their choice for consideration. Ten shelters will be selected based on their number of votes/submissions.
The choices will then be reduced to five shelter, each of which will receive a donation of $2,000. Selected shelters will be contacted and verified by the studio. Although no hard release date has been revealed yet, that is when the shelters will receive their donation.
“For us, Animal Shelter Simulator is so much more than just a game,” says Marek Parzyński, Games Incubator CEO. “Through it, we wanted to raise the awareness of the players on the problem of homeless animals and lack of care they get. That’s also a reason we have decided to give a donation to a shelter of community’s choice.”
Animal Shelter Simulator will launch in the first quarter of 2022 on PC via Steam. Interested players can currently request access to be a part of the playtest on Steam as well.
